The Branch extends AAUW's national outreach program functions into our local community to recruit, engage, and retain AAUW members who, in turn, empower other local community women to achieve equity and achieve their potential.
The Branch, as an affiliate of a primarily membership organization, uses AAUW membership recruitment program events and activities that feature discounted membership dues offers along with AAUW research and information (for example, Washington Update).
The Branch promotes professional development, personal growth, and wellness with leadership opportunities and fellowship.
These activities include leadership opportunities for a good cause, networking, socials, new member teas and orientation activities, sunshine outreach activities, interest groups, and other general outreach efforts that help meet individual women's extrinsic and intrinsic empowerment needs.
The vice president of membership and the board membership committee members develop and oversee these membership outreach activities.
